About Gavin Ackerly

Gavin is the CEO of Community Four and founder of the Symbiotic Innovation model of social assistance. He is a Churchill Fellow who has worked for over a decade in community development and empowerment services with people seeking asylum and refugees. He was the Director of Empowerment and Innovation Hub at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre for 9 years. He later served as the Executive Manager of the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation, developing its strategic plan and overseeing its Men’s Health, Refugee Settlement and Youth Leadership programs. In 2016 Gavin co-founded Community Four, an organisation dedicated to working with emerging communities to develop their social infrastructure, through the Symbiotic Innovation model.
